Would you like to perform your best in your sport more often?
Would you like to feel supremely confident before, during, and after every game or competition?
Would you like to ensure that the young athlete in your family is getting exactly what he/she needs to fulfill his/her potential?
Alan can help. He works with athletes aged 12 and up to build mental toughness and show them how to individually apply it to their specific sport.
Alan guides each client through the development of a personal action plan, and holds clients accountable to commitments they make to themselves. Athletes learn how to structure and implement their plans in ways that make them mentally tougher. The goal is for athletes to be able to access their full potential when the pressure is on. Throughout this process, Alan provides a patient ear, advice, strategy options, and endless support.
It all starts with a face-to-face consultation that identifies challenges and issues to be resolved. Then goal-setting begins. Parents and coaches are welcome to attend sessions, as this is a fluid process.
Competitive athletes are busy and on the move; Alan recognizes this and is always flexible. Sessions may occur in person, by phone, Skype or even e-mail. Where possible, he will attend training sessions or competitions.
It is not overestimating it to say that without the work Alan did with him, our son likely would not be playing hockey anymore… Alan taught our son to focus on his own game - to not worry about the distractions - to listen to his own inner voice - to focus in preparation for a game - and to stay focused and upbeat no matter what happened on the ice or in the locker room. We continue to work with Alan because he really knows how to really help young athletes with the mental part of their game. We highly recommend him.
